Things That Made Me Go Mmmmm… #1

I enjoy browsing through all kinds of interesting articles, recipes, TV shows and other tasty media bites throughout the week. I thought I’d start sharing my favorites with you. Hope you enjoy them!

>> Trousers that come with their own napkin? That’s what you get with Gluttony Pants, designed by renowned San Francisco-based chef Chris Cosentino for Betabrand. There are three buttons that allow you to let out the waistband as needed per your level of gluttony, labeled Piglet, Sow and Boar. You’ve got to see these things – they’re cleverly hilarious.

>> It never once occurred to me that I might be able to make my own brown sugar. Leave it to Joy the Baker to open my eyes to new exciting new possibilities in the kitchen.

>> I’ve made plenty of freezer jam before, but the idea of Blueberry Microwave Jam (from In Jennie’s Kitchen) sounded pretty novel to me. I haven’t tried it yet, but I aim to before blueberry season is over.

>> If you liked the Stuffing Muffins I made last Thanksgiving, definitely check out these Macaroni & Cheese Cupcakes over on the Framed blog. Very inventive!

>> I need to find an excuse to visit Gail from One Tough Cookie so that she might whip up some of these incredible cookies decorated to look like food blogs for me!  The bloggers she made them for had to have been blown away. They came out so cute…I wonder if she does mail order?

mac and cheese cupcakes ??! I’m going to have to go check those out!

Renee @kudoskitchen used to make very artful cookies – she’s switched to tiles … since many people said the cookies were too beautiful to eat. Have you seen her work ?? trivets, magnets, coasters, small wall hangings …

Kathy, thanks for including me here! Apparently, all the bloggers said ‘mmmmm’ after eating their blog cookies. And, yes, I do ship them!

  3. You know, I’ve never thought about making my own brown sugar. And I agree with Doreen: Renee @KudosKitchen does a fabulous job, whether it’s painting cookies OR her new trivets. There is such talent among us! Hope everything is well with you & your family 🙂
